ABOUT THE NY STATE SCIENCE TESTS BELOW:
Each year, the test has two parts. Part 1 is multiple choice. For Part 2, you will write in your answers.
Below, you will find links to the actual NYS Science Test for the years shown.
Here's how to use these as practice for your own test:
(PART 1)
Click on "Test Booklet" to open.
Next, click "Online Quiz" to open the page where you will enter your answers.
You can just switch back and forth between the test booklet and the Online Quiz pages, or you can print the test booklet if you prefer.
Read each question in the test booklet, then click your answer on the "Online Quiz" page, which will tell you whether your answer is right or wrong.
Your answers are not recorded anywhere, and they don't count towards your science grade. These tests are only to give you practice, to get you ready for the written part of your test.
If you don't want to use the Online Quiz to enter your answers, you can also click on "Answer Key for Part 1" and check your answers there.
Please note that after 2016, the answer keys for Parts 1 and 2 are included together.
(PART 2)
Taking Part 2 of the practice tests is a little trickier, because the questions are not multiple choice.
For Part 2 (Questions 31 through 40), you will need to write your answer on a piece of paper, then read an online Answer Key to find out if your answer is right or wrong.
The Answer Key for Part 2 can be a little tricky to understand; so if you have trouble, ask an adult to help you check your answers.
To see the online Answer Key, click on "Answer Key for Part 2" below for the test you are taking.
You can keep this page open to read the answer key, or you can print it out.
Either way, you will need to read carefully to see if your answer is correct, and how many points you would get for your answer.
The answers for Part 2 usually begin on page 5 of the Answer Key.
